Family Law - Areas of Practice

High Net-Worth Divorces

If you or your spouse has accumulated significant assets or a complex estate during the course of your marriage, we understand how important it is to diligently and thoroughly protect your interest in those assets. In cases where litigation and trial are necessary, you can be certain that your interests will be aggressively and effectively protected by our skilled Attorney.

Modifications of Past Judgments

It is important to know that matters that were once agreed upon by you and your spouse or ruled upon by a judge can still be modified in the future. Navigating through this complex case on your own is nearly impossible, and you must have support from the start. By working with Amanda, a seasoned family law attorney, you can protect your child’s well-being and your parental rights under Missouri law.

Child Support and Spousal Support

If you have a child with someone you are no longer in a relationship with, there are likely custody, parenting time, and child support issues to legally settle. Child support is ordered in both divorces and in cases where parties were never married, otherwise known as paternity actions. Typically, child support is calculated by Missouri’s Form 14, however, the parties are able to deviate by agreement. Additionally, the court can deviate from the Form 14 by taking into account factors, such as the increased transportation costs incurred because of one parent’s relocation.

In Missouri, alimony is known as maintenance. Missouri’s courts have wide discretion in determining whether or not spousal maintenance should be awarded and the amount and duration of maintenance. Maintenance is not an absolute right, and the party requesting maintenance must prove to the court that they need help to provide for their reasonable needs. Maintenance is governed by Sect. 452.335 RSMo.
